Gwynn and Marissa invite you to our virtual theatre camp. This camp will offer a fun, educational, and creative environment for students who are interested in theatre. Explore the magic of storytelling through theatre games, activities, and crafts. At the end of this five-day session we will be putting on a final presentation for our family and friends. Gwynn Cristobal has served as the Co-Director and Musical Director for Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre's Kids Summer Theatre Camp, creating shows such as James & the Giant Peach, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Peter Pan Jr. Gwynn’s performance credits include a plethora of organizations throughout Humboldt County and the Bay Area. Gwynn enjoys being a nanny and working with kids. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Theatre Arts from Humboldt State University.
Marissa Sanchez is an actor, writer, teaching artist, and overall creative. She has been working as a teaching artist (TA) since she graduated from Humboldt State University. She currently works for Oregon Children's Theatre and enjoys working with youth, teaching them the power of storytelling. Aside from being a TA, she's also the co-facilitator for the Portland based non-profit, Age and Gender Equity in the Arts' theatre collective. She strongly believes that theatre is a catalyst for social change and commits to including youth in that conversation.
In this Masterclass, teens can bring monologues or can be assigned monologues that will serve as perfect audition material. The class will touch on foundations of various Acting Techniques, Voice, and Script Analysis in order to build a character from scratch and craft a monologue for future auditions.
Roman Sanchez is a theatre educator, director, and producer. He has taught 5 to 75 year olds throughout the country, including at the California State Summer School for the Arts, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Redwood Curtain Theatre, Ooh La La Dance & Studio, and Lime Arts Productions. His book, Preparing For College Theatre, is a byproduct of his passion of working with young theatre practitioners. He is a Kennedy Center National Arts Impact Award recipient, Herb Alpert Theatre recipient, and was one of American Theatre's "6 Theatre Practitioners You Should Know”. @romansanchez001
